Current Conditions and Success on the Bank with Christine Dooley
Salmon River - Grays Harbor, WA
The Salmon River and surrounding Olympic Peninsula tributaries are currently offering steady opportunities for anglers targeting both late-run salmon and early steelhead. Water levels have stabilized, creating ideal conditions for our land-based approach. As an experienced steelhead fishing guide in Washington, Christine has been scouting the best gravel bars and deep pockets where fish are holding.
Recent outings on the Queets River and Cook Creek have been productive. We are seeing healthy numbers of fish moving through, and our guests have had great success using the gear and bait provided. Because no boat is required, we’ve been able to reach quiet, productive bank spots that drift boats often pass over.
The Washington coast perch fishing also remains a strong option for those looking for a change of pace. The surf near Aberdeen has been active, with several limit-style days for our 4-hour and 6-hour shore trips. Whether you are a beginner learning to read the surf or a seasoned angler looking for a private fishing trip in Washington state, the current bite is worth the visit.
We still have a few openings for 8-hour full-day trips this month. Remember to bring your valid Washington fishing license, and we’ll take care of the rods, bait, and gear. After a cold morning on the water’s edge, we’ve been enjoying some great post-trip meals to swap stories and celebrate the day's catch.
